Through its International Relations Department, EBAPE has just signed a cooperation agreement with one of the United State’s leading research schools, Purdue University, located in West Lafayette, Indiana (US). This partnership will be more specifically with the American university’s business school, the Krannert School of Business, and will involve an exchange of undergraduate and master’s students, the setting up of modules with visiting professors from both institutions, and the development of a series of research projects.
Purdue is also part of the International Master’s in Management (IMM) program, which brings together seven of the world’s leading business schools, including EBAPE in a joint effort to improve the global knowledge and skills of high profile executives and managers in the business world. The modules will be offered in seven countries, located in Europe, North America, South America and Asia.
In the opinion of EBAPE’s International Officer, Monica Balanda, the signing of this agreement effectively means closer ties with Purdue, which should also allow for the development of different international activities other than the traditional student exchanges, which might include short-term courses on specific subjects that would benefit a larger number of EBAPE students interested in broadening their international experience.
Founded in 1869, Purdue University is known for its academic excellence and for its leading role in producing research. The institution is still the second largest in terms of the foreign students it hosts among America’s public universities, and appears in fourth place in the overall rankings, this according to a report published by the International Institute of Education (November 12th, 2012).
