Who is the program for?
Unique in Brazil, the Master’s in Management (MiM) program is a full-time designed program for recent graduates from all areas, with 100% of classes taught in English by a world-renowned faculty.
Held entirely in Brazil, this International Program attracts students from all continents, which provides a multicultural and challenging environment.
MiM is a passport for those who want to achieve exceptional careers in management, obtaining an agile and excellent education. With a shorter duration and, at the same time, intensive learning, the course is ideal for students who are about to obtain a Bachelor’s degree or graduated a maximum of three years ago and have little or no work experience.
What to expect?
The Master’s in Management (MiM) program boosts the careers of young professionals, deepening their knowledge in the areas of business management and making them attractive to the job market, both nationally and internationally.
What will you achieve?
MiM offers a solid foundation in core management areas, with a strong international perspective. With multicultural professors and multidisciplinary content, the program combines soft skills with a methodology based on real cases.
Students can choose between two academic tracks:
- General Management: which provides a broad view of management; and
- Sustainability Management in Emerging Markets: which trains students on sustainable development in the public, private, or nonprofit sectors.
Program duration
MiM Program: 15 months
MiM Double Degree program: 21 months
Frequency and hours
Starting in the first semester of the calendar year, classes occur every three months, from Monday to Thursday, in the morning and afternoon. Makeup classes are scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays.
Degree
Students who graduate from FGV EBAPE’s Master´s in Management program receive the Master’s Degree in Administration.
Students of the double degree program have the following options:

Academic track - Sustainability Management in Emerging Markets
This academic track meets the needs of the dynamic and fast-growing sustainable development job market, relying on a mix of distinct courses: Management, Economics, Social Sciences, and Development Studies.
The academic track offers students content and practical projects and experiences in Brazil’s critical environmental regions, which often present vulnerabilities.
Students acquire knowledge about concepts and theories related to sustainability and the skills needed to practically manage environmental challenges in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors of emerging markets.
The Sustainability Management in Emerging Markets academic track offers students content and practical projects and experiences in Brazil’s critical environmental regions, which often present vulnerabilities.
The main purposes are to offer:
- Basic knowledge of concepts and theories related to sustainability; and
- Necessary skills to practically manage environmental challenges in the public, private, and third sectors of emerging markets.
The Sustainability Management in Emerging Markets academic track is organized into three periods, lasting one quarter each:
CORE COURSES ON SUSTAINABILITY
Students are exposed to critical concepts and challenges faced by sustainability management and development. The scope is wide enough to address institutional strengthening, capacity building, sustainable development, climate change, green finance, inequality and social policies, forest management, and biodiversity (conservation and economic exploitation), among others.
ELECTIVE COURSES
Hands-on experiences that will help students broaden and deepen their knowledge, fostering a broad network of local and international partners.
This period is made up of:
- Additional 30-hour courses;
- Possibility of immersion in the Amazon;
RESEARCH AND THESIS
Students are expected to devote significant time and effort to completing the literature review, fine-tuning the research question, collecting and analyzing data, and writing and defending the master’s thesis with the advisor’s support.

Recent graduates from any undergraduate program who are interested in sustainability; young professionals who wish to update their knowledge before moving up the job ladder; and mid-career professionals who want to gain experience in public policy aimed at sustainable development.
Organizations
Local, state, and federal governments that want to invest in the qualification of employees in new areas; multinational companies that want to support their employees in innovative approaches to sustainability; foundations and nonprofit philanthropic entities that intend to professionalize their staff in policy issues relevant to their areas of activity.
Internationalization
The courses are taught in English and MiM offers the possibility of a second degree with partner schools abroad, reflecting FGV EBAPE's continuous effort to invest in offering international opportunities to its students. Students can choose from several countries and benefit from opening up job opportunities in every corner of the world.

Double Degree Program
In the MIM Double Degree at FGV EBAPE, in addition to the regular disciplines, the candidates will be able to choose one of the renowned partner schools abroad to complete part of their training, receiving double certification.
Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics
Founded more than 40 years ago, Católica-Lisbon School of Business & Economics is specialized in Economics and Management. The School is a leader among educational institutions in Portugal and it has a long-standing reputation for innovative teaching and rigorous academic practice, encouraging critical thinking and excellence in learning.
The school also has a strong connection with the business world, as most of its former students hold senior executive positions in organizations of various sizes.
Montpellier Business School
Founded in 1897, MBS offers French and international students the excellent training of a globally recognized school of management. Committed and inclusive, it educates students to change the future by making a responsible economic transition.
ESCP Business School
A pioneer in the last 200 years, ESCP boasts many innovations successfully adopted worldwide and is also the only pan-European school with campuses in Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Turin, and Warsaw.
Some partner schools have limited number of places, the designation is based on availability.

Designing a good CV
Group based activities:
- Review of the general consensus of what is a good CV — structure and content;
- Illustration of good practices for a standard CV;
- Group criticism on samples of bad CVs;
- Collective draft — creation of a fictitious CV.
Individual activities:
- Individual critique sessions and joint review of CVs.
Cover letter workshops
Group based activities:
- Review of the general consensus of what a standard cover letter should contain;
- Structuring the cover letter and including specific content;
- Work on the basic and formal writing skills necessary for daily survival, with a focus on business English.
Individual Activities
- Individual sessions for cover letter critique and joint review.
Group based activities:
Good practices on LinkedIn;
- Good practices on LinkedIn;
- Site exploration – how to use it;
- Group dynamics – creation of a fictitious LinkedIn profile (collective creation).
Interview (Conversation/Simulations)
Group based activities:
- Review of the dynamics of an interview: what kind of questions are asked and why;
- Better understanding of the interview from a “disaster” perspective;
- Work on specific speech structure (Q&A format);
- Simulation of interview/group dynamics (fictitious job vacancy);
- Interview questions and the purpose behind them.
Individual activities:
- Interview simulation - in person and via skype.

Integration and networking
In addition to the interaction provided within the MiM classrooms, students can take courses in other FGV EBAPE master’s degree programs, up to a limit of three elective courses.
Such integration and networking have produced national and international alliances among FGV EBAPE graduate students, building solid partnerships between public agency managers, for example, and leading to valuable experience exchanges.

Students are encouraged to submit their research works to academic conferences, increasing their repertoire and network of contacts

Databases
FGV EBAPE offers complete and up-to-date databases. It is an outstanding collection in Brazil, and students can access extensive databases and indexes at the school’s premises or online.
Students and professors can access content and case studies from the Harvard Business School (HBS). They have the right to a digital subscription to the Financial Times (FT) platform, with access to the research area and complete content on business, careers, news, and sustainability.
