Students of the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV/EBAPE) Marcelo Brogliato (PhD), Daniel de Magalhães Chada (PhD), Jamil Civitarese (Master’s) and Andreia Sodre (former Master’s student), along with Professor Alexandre Linhares, and American co-founders, founded a technology startup at Palo Alto in Silicon Valley. The technologies developed by the new company deal with information theory, statistical models and algorithms for fast data processing.
During the opening process, students participated in meetings with accountants and lawyers specialized in patents in the technology market. The students were also invited to visit some of the world’s largest companies in the sector, such as Google, Facebook and Yelp, in addition to Stanford University and other startups based in the region.
The company is already registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), a US federal agency responsible for enforcing the federal securities laws and the regulation of stock market values in the US. The operations are expected to start in 2016.
