Conceptual rigor is at the core of our courses and research endeavors. The program offers state-of-the-art knowledge in four areas of expertise: Behavioral and Decision Sciences; Strategy and Organizations; Finance; and Institutions, Policy and Government.
Methodological rigor is also inherent to the programs. Multiple statistical courses that endow students with a solid foundation for analyzing experiments, conducting sample surveys and exploring secondary databases. Quantitative methods are also broadly addressed in the program.

Our professors and students research phenomena prompting interest in the academic world, as well as among public and private organizations. The FGV/EBAPE has invested in Research Centers in order to underpin the feasibility of building up links between academia and the everyday problems encountered by companies, the government and society. The Center for Behavioral Research (CBR) and the Center for Banking and Finance Research in Rio (CBFR) are the first initiatives of the School in this area.

A significant portion of the learning process takes place outside the classrooms, where concepts, methods and new research ideas are discussed each day by students and professors.
This is why full-time attendance is a requirement for applicants wishing to sign up for the Academic program with the FGV/EBAPE.
