Program Structure & Offered Courses

The Master in Management Program is structured with two possible durations. The regular format has a maximum duration of 15 (fifteen) months and 21 (twenty-one) months for the Double Degree format. These deadlines include the Master´s Thesis defense.

The students can also choose between the General Management or Sustainability Management in Emerging Markets tracks. Each student must follow one of the tracks.

For MIM students who choose for the Double Degree Program, Católica Lisbon offers five different alternatives, within programs and their specializations and majors. 

 

For students undergraduate with no background in the areas of management, business administration and/or economics:

Master of Science in Business

 

For students undergraduate with background in the areas of management, business administration and/or economics:

Master of Science in Management with Specialization in Strategic Marketing

- Master of Science in Management with Specialization in Strategy and Entrepreneurship & Impact

- International Master of Science in Management, majors em Marketing e Strategy and Consulting.

 

The students’ study plan will be prepared by the Católica Lisbon academic coordination according to the program chosen by the students and the courses taken at FGV EBAPE.

Católica Lisbon Programs, Requirements and Study plan

Master of Science in Business

The MSc in Business provides strong foundations in management for non-business graduates. The program introduces students to the core areas of business and provides them with the analytical and soft skills to succeed in today's workplace. Students will prepare for managerial careers by adding business knowledge to their previous academic training. The program will provide graduates with a solid foundation in the core areas of Management. You will acquire the knowledge, analytical tools, and competencies necessary for a successful managerial career.

The MSc in Business will complement and enable you to leverage your undergraduate training. You can choose to bring your management insights to the field of your undergraduate degree, or you can pursue a career in the business area that interests you most. Our Career Development Office will assist you in identifying and achieving your career goals.

International Master of Science in Management

The International MSc in Management complements solid foundations in the core areas of management with a strong international perspective. It is a highly selective program with a strong international scope that offers you a high quality graduate education in Business.

This program offers a balanced perspective on business as well as the possibility to choose one of two majors available for MIM students:

  • Major in Marketing
  • Major in Strategy and Consulting

The program is designed to provide you with the relevant practical and academic knowledge required for an international career: it combines deep analytical skills with applied learning, project and case based. You will enrich your understanding of global business challenges in the mandatory block of International Management courses.

Master of Science in Management with a specialization in Strategic Marketing

The MSc in Management with a specialization in Strategic Marketing prepares students for careers in all areas of marketing. The program provides the conceptual frameworks, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to assume a variety of marketing roles, such as product managers, branding specialists, consumer insight analysts and more.

In this program, you can deepen your knowledge in new forms and contexts of marketing through a broad range of electives. You will also learn and practice conducting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative research.

This program is designed to provide you with the academic and practical knowledge to succeed in a variety of marketing-related careers.  Develop the conceptual knowledge, analytical and technical skills, creativity and competencies to help you advance to high level marketing positions.

The MSc in Management with a specialization in Strategy, Entrepreneurship & Impact provides students with a firm grounding in strategic frameworks, analytical skills, and project and case based learning.

Students can choose from a wide range of electives offered including technology strategy, entrepreneurial finance, innovation management, and project management. Develop your conceptual and analytical skills through applied project and case based learning. Deepen your knowledge of key concepts in Business Strategy, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship through a range of electives.

This program can prepare you for a top career in consulting, management or strategy, or provide you with the tools to launch your own entrepreneurial venture.

A 10-day immersion program!

The students will be able to observe first-hand some of the environmental projects and sustainable management practices performed by key players within the public, private and third sector in the Amazon region.

  • Students’ activities during their stay may include: Interviews with/presentations by key influencers and policy makers that perform the role of movers and shakers of Brazilian policies on sustainability.
  • On-site observation on the challenges and opportunities faced by the private, public, and non-governmental organizations working on sustainability projects.
  • Interaction with employees, consultants and beneficiaries of the activities performed by these organizations.
  • Cultural events and local visits.

We expect the Amazon Immersion Experience to expand students networking, complement their academic training, and offer a unparallel cultural experience.
