Every faculty member at FGV/EBAPE holds a doctorate degree and are acknowledged for their high level of academic excellence, with noteworthy international recognition. Our professors also coordinate projects that are benchmarks for technological and scientific production.
Additionally, beyond the traditional lecture based classroom approach, our faculty members use a variety of pedagogical approaches that are sure to give our students a unique experience. Active learning by means of problem-based teaching and simulations are only a few of the means used in class to bring students an international education level.
Students may access the main databases and indexing services either at FGV or remotely, including: Portal de Periódicos Capes, JSTOR, Ebsco, West Law, Heinon-line, Vlex, Lexis Nexis, International Encyclopedia of Social & Behavioral Science (Science Direct), Proquest Dissertations & Theses, Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, Economática, Compustat Global, Compustat North America and also the Dicionário Houaiss Portuguese dictionary and the CAPES WEB TV channel that broadcasts news on University campi and offers training to the CAPES Periodicals Portal users.
In addition to offering access to major Brazilian and international databases, FGV/EBAPE also provides its students and professors with exclusive subscriptions to two major databases: Harvard Business School (HBS) and the Financial Times (FT). The former offers access to all materials produced by this publisher and other associated clearing houses (case studies, teaching notes, papers, simulations, on-line courses, chapters etc.) for professors and students. The latter provides digital access to the full content of this highly-respected international business newspaper, including case studies. The use of participant-centered active methods (case studies, simulations) is strongly encouraged by the School, particularly for the Master in Management.
FGV/EBAPE has been internationally certified by the European Foundation for Management Development (EQUIS/EFMD) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) which are international entities that evaluate business schools. This accreditation is only awarded to institutions that comply with extremely stringent international teaching and research quality standards.
The school is also certified by the International Commission on Accreditation of Public Administration Education and Training (ICAPA) which is the institution in charge of accreditation for public administration training and education programs, compliant with the directives issued by the Board of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Administration (IASIA).
