Mel Girão
She has been working in the marketing and planning field for twenty-five years—eighteen of which were spent in executive director positions—at companies such as L’Oréal, SKY, Kimberly-Clark, Hypermarcas, Qualicorp, and MetLife. During this time, she was responsible for major business divisions and the management of leading brands in their segments in Brazil, such as Maybelline, SKY, Neve, Kleenex, Scott, Risqué, PomPom, Jontex, Olla, Finn, Adocyl, ZeroCal, Monange, Paixão, Bozzano, and BigFral, among others.
Since 2015, she has also been teaching in FGV – Fundação Getulio Vargas’ MBA programs. At the invitation of FGV, she co-authored the textbook Marketing, Branding e Sustentabilidade (“Marketing, Branding and Sustainability”), which serves as the core text for this discipline in the MBA program, and in 2019 authored the e-book Consumo e Processo Decisório de Compra (“Consumption and the Purchase Decision Process”) for the online MBA in Marketing.
She is currently co-founder and CDO of the fintech Wallet, specialized in credit and treasury operations for agribusiness, as well as a Board Member at Áster Máquinas (John Deere), PMI (Project Management Institute), and IBTC (Instituto Brasileiro de Tesouraria Corporativa).
