Lars Norden has been a Professor of Banking and Finance at the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (FGV EBAPE) since August 2015 and at the Brazilian School of Economics and Finance (FGV EPGE) since January 2020, at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Rio de Janeiro. He is the coordinator of the Center for Banking and Finance Research in Rio (CBFR). Before joining FGV, he was a Professor at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) from 2009 to 2015. He is Associate Editor of the Journal of Financial Intermediation, Journal of Financial Stability, and the Journal of Financial Services Research. He is a member of the European Banking Center (EBC) and has visited Georgetown University, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), FGV EBAPE, Indiana University, and the Research Center of the Deutsche Bundesbank. His research interests include financial intermediation, empirical banking, corporate finance, and credit risk. His work has been published in leading academic journals in the field, including the Journal of Political Economy, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance, Journal of Financial Intermediation, and Journal of Banking and Finance. He regularly presents his research at leading conferences in the field. Professor Norden holds a PhD in Business Administration from the University of Mannheim and master's degrees from the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School.
