Professor Robert Gregory, a specialist in political science and public administration, has been invited by the departments of Law and Political Science at the University of Barcelona to deliver two lectures during an official visit to the institution.
On January 21, Professor Gregory will deliver a lecture to municipal officials from the city of Barcelona and neighboring towns, addressing topics related to the evolution of governmental transparency standards at the international level and common institutional challenges.
On January 24, he will give a lecture aimed at the academic audience of the University of Barcelona, titled: “Populism and the Weakening of Public Transparency in Latin America: Animus or Institutional Opportunity?”. The presentation aims to foster academic discussion on the impact of populism on public governance and the institutional possibilities for strengthening transparency in complex political environments.
The entire visit will be funded by the University of Barcelona, highlighting the international importance of the topic and the relevance of Professor Gregory's contribution to the global debate.
