FGV/EBAPE undergraduate course takes first place in the Folha 2016 university ranking

The Schools of Business Administration, Economics and Law of the Fundação Getulio Vargas, in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, topped the Folha (RUF 2016) University Ranking, compiled by the Folha de São Paulo newspaper. The schools were rated among the best undergraduate courses in the country. The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) was ranked in 1st place among private post-secondary institutions in Rio de Janeiro.

Compiled since 2012, the RUF is an annual assessment of post-secondary education in Brazil. The publication rates 192 Brazilian universities - public and private - based on five indicators: research, internationalization, innovation, education and market. It also ranks the 40 undergraduate courses with the highest number of incoming students in Brazil, such as Business Administration, Law and Medicine, based on two indicators: education and the market.

The ranking of these courses uses indicators to assess the quality of the teaching and the labor market. The result is the outcome of interviews conducted by the Datafolha Institute with teachers who are qualified evaluators for the Ministry of Education and professionals. The assessment also takes into account the proportion of teaching staff with a Master’s and PhD degree, and their course load. The ENADE (National Student Performance Exam) scores of students are also included in the final evaluation.
