FGV EBAPE doctoral student Ana Paula Silva dos Santos has been selected to join the team of the Special Report on Climate Change and Cities, developed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
Ana Paula will serve as Chapter Scientist for Chapter 4, which is coordinated by Professor José Puppim de Oliveira from FGV EBAPE, acting as Coordinating Lead Author.
The first author meeting – the First Lead Author Meeting – took place from March 10 to 14, in Osaka, Japan, and brought together members of the international scientific community involved in the preparation of the report.
The Special Report on Climate Change and Cities is a document of great global relevance that will present scientific evidence and policy recommendations focusing on the intersection between urbanization and the climate crisis. The report is expected to be released in 2027, and the next author meeting is scheduled for July 2025, in Mombasa, Kenya.
FGV EBAPE congratulates Ana Paula on this achievement and celebrates the leadership of its students and faculty in the global sustainability and climate change agenda.
