From November 16th to 18th, FGV EBAPE, in partnership with the publisher Elsevier, held the First Elsevier Finance Conference at FGV EBAPE Headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro. The event brought together experts for debates on studies in the area of finance, global trends, green and climate finance, financial accessibility, corporate finance, among other topics.
The congress featured academic and political sessions and a series of workshops, including: Financial Technology and Digital Finance (held in partnership with the Central Bank of Brazil (Banco Central do Brasil); Women in Finance; among others. The conference promoted a debate table with 20 editors from international academic journals, sessions for advanced articles, and meetings for academic discussions on green and climate finance, and finance in emerging countries.
“It was an incredible experience to welcome so many researchers from all over the world to FGV EBAPE and bring to debate such important topics in the field of finance. In my opinion, having the participation of 20 editors from the world's main journals, promoting discussions and presenting insights into article development, brought a great difference to the conference”, says Lars Norden.
The event will also be highlighted in special editions of Elsevier magazines, such as: Finance Research Letters, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Journal of Economics and Business and Research in International Business and Finance, among others.
The meeting had as local partners the National Association of Postgraduate Studies and Research in Administration (Associação Nacional de Pós-Graduação e Pesquisa em Administração - ANPAD), the Brazilian Accounting Association (Associação Brasileira de Contabilidade), the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro - UERJ) and the International Association of Banks, Economics and Finance (Associação Internacional de Bancos, Economia e Finanças - IBEFA).
Also present at the event were BSc and MsC & PhD programs’ students who, throughout the conference, provided support to the participants.
