Responding to rising demands reflecting widespread professional activities in Brazil’s civil service sector, the FGV/EBAPE launched its Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) course in 2012, at the professional level. Following the guidelines laid down by the University Level Staff Higher Education Coordination Unit (CAPES) in Edict Nº 080/98. this stricto sensu graduate course allows students to reconcile their studies with professional activities, transferring knowledge to civil service entities and society.

The MPA offers two class schedules:

Regular Schedule:

Classes are held at night for 22 months, ending with the approval and presentation of the Final Coursework. Beginning in February each year, classes are structured into trimesters, based on the curriculum.

Intensive Schedule:

This option offers the same curriculum structure as the regular schedule, but with disciplines taught in concentrated week-long modules run about every six weeks. Beginning in August each year and lasting 22 months, this course offers a convenient opportunity for people living and working outside the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Purpose:

To train leaders in Brazil’s civil service sector. This program allows new graduates to offer consulting services, accept middle and senior management positions in the civil service, and progress in their academic careers.

Target Public:

Directors, managers and other senior-level professionals working in direct and indirect civil service entities in all spheres of government.
