The Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration (EBAPE) is once again among the best schools in the country, according to the General Course Index (IGC in Portuguese), published on November 17th by Brazil’s Ministry of Education. EBAPE was ranked among the best institutions in Brazil, in the “faculties and institutes” category, which covered all areas of teaching. According to the this latest index, only 27 institutions achieved the highest score (5), and EBAPE, once again, has been placed in this select group, placing it among the top five schools of Rio de Janeiro.
The IGC index awards scores to faculties, university centers and universities, taking into account the quality of their undergraduate and graduate courses (Master’s and Doctorate). The indices are calculated by means of an evaluation of its members of faculty, facilities, academic project and the students’ grades in the National Student Performance Examination (ENADE in Portuguese).
EBAPE now has 260 undergraduate students and all of the full time professors hold a PhD. In addition to an undergraduate program, the institution offers two Master’s and one Doctorate program, with a total of 560 enrolled students.
According to the Dean of EBAPE, Professor Flavio Vasconcelos, the school’s performance is due to the quality of the teaching, coupled with strong emphasis on research.
